I wish I'd been good enough at rugby to be called the worst AB of all time. I was never a huge Farrell fan but he had a tremendous career with Auckland and was a much better player than he showed at test level.

Colin Farrell was far from being the worst All Black of all time. Yes neither of his two games for them was great but not awful either. They beat the Lions 16-12 in the Ist test and could of drawn if even won in the 2nd test had Lyn Jaffray held onto a pass in the last min. That defeat was not Farrell's fault. Poor Bee Gee had the goalkicking duties and missed 2 penalties next to the posts. 6 possible points lost.

Poor guy he was only 21 at the time. He just got off to a bad start and then psychologically fell apart after a loss of confidence. Probably stared panicking and 2nd guessing himself. I think that's happened to us all in certain stages of life playing sport, but usually not in front of 1000's of people at a test match and on the TV!
